I had the opportunity to this extended family photo session requested by one of the daughters and her mother. I was a little worried about fitting 8 people in my space and backdrop but somehow, I was able to make it happen. As a Brooklyn portrait photographer with a small studio size space you have to figure out how to make studio sessions work when it is too cold for outdoor sessions. This family I have known for years and photograph one of the families years ago, so it was awesome to photograph all of them this time.

We had a consultation to discuss how many people will be part of the shoot and what they will wear. Based on what they decided to wear I chose to use this bone color backdrop to bring out the white and jeans they are wearing. Bare foot was the way to go with this indoor studio session. The entire setup was simple and classic which made for great wall art. As a Brooklyn Portrait Photographer I love the pre session consultation for family photo sessions because it helps ensure that your session will be stress-free as possible and makes for a positive photo experience.

We did a few images of the entire group, mom with her 4 children and then one with the grandchildren. I brought out one classic white chair for one person to sit on to create a different look in the image sets.
