Every Brooklyn baby photography studio session is so different. They are each as unique as the baby I am photographing. Baby Orion was a wonderfully sleepy boy who loved being wrapped up.

When mom first contacted me about booking, I knew that capturing these memories was very important for their family. This was the first boy and the second child after almost 20 yrs. so it was a very special and exciting time for them. Orion’s mom contacted me after seeing her friend’s newborn photos that I took a few weeks prior. I was able to get him in that weekend when he was just about 4 weeks old.

When I talked to mom about colors, she and big sister immediately said blue and then let me pick out the next color. I went with grey and cream. Mom did bring in an outfit, but we didn’t get to use it as Orion was much more content being wrapped.

Catching up on sleep

I first started this Brooklyn baby photography studio session out with potato pose upright in a bed prop and use the bonnet and then took it for a few images as well. I then changed up the wrap and left his toes peeking out and posed him on a bench prop.

Their favorite image at the ordering appointment was this image with the heart in his little feet.

Pulling out the bowl prop I then moved unto a cream knit wrap set and changed up the wrapping style just a bit from the bench prop.

Baskets is another great prop that I used with him posed on his back looking. By this time he was awake for bit so I did get one image with his eyes open and then he fell asleep again.

I added a star bucket hugger to my bucket and put him in that and tried to get a few different looks, but he only let me do one before he said this is enough.

Brooklyn Baby Photography Expressions

Since he was now up and had no intention of going back to sleep, I did some expressions shots with him and got some cute images with that. These are always a favorite.
