I offer indoor and outdoor Maternity photography sessions. Week 32-36 is a great time to have your session. I recommend booking around week 20 so we can start planning!

Newborn photography sessions take place at 10 am in my home on a Sunday or on weekday evenings.  Once you have booked, you will be sent a Newborn Prep Guide to help you get ready for your session. This includes clothing suggestions, and how to ensure your baby stays sleepy for his/her session. A sleepy baby between 6-20 days old will help achieve those adorable poses you see in the portfolio section.

I encourage all of my clients to contact me in their 2nd trimester. I will get your name on my calendar and have you pay your Session Fee and sign contract to reserve your session.  Once your baby arrives you can contact me and we will book your session sometime before day 20. 
Newborn sessions should be done sometime between days 5-20. This is when they sleep the most, and still have their amazing flexibility, which allow for those adorable positions.  

Newborns, on up to 1 year old, I do solely in my home (depending on your situation after birth I may travel to you).  Due to the amount of equipment and supplies that I have, it takes time to pack and travel then setup. I keep my house and the room I photograph in very clean and sanitized, and am very conscious that your trip to my studio is normally baby's first time out. I take very seriously the health and safety of the newborns that arrive here. 

I encourage mom and dad to wear light neutral basic colors. Tans, whites, and blacks all work great. The simpler the better. Basic tee's and tank tops are perfect. No zippers or buttons. Feel free to come in comfy clothes, and I will let you know when we will be doing your photos with baby.

1st birthdays are such a huge milestone in your little ones life. Why not document  it with a fun 1 year cake smash session.
Cake Smash photography sessions include a studio set up in the theme and/or colors of your choice, and the cake (parent purchases the cake). I ask that you provide the outfit that matches the theme and/or colors.

From sitter sessions to updated family pictures, let me help you document your family. Six month sessions to capture all those rolls, Five year old sessions to capture your spirited preschool child, etc.

Bright colors and neutral colors tend to photograph well. While it used to be popular for everyone in the family to match exactly (ie, everyone wears white shirts and jeans), many families are now leaning towards choosing a color palette and then letting each family member choose their favorite clothes within those colors. The color palette can be lighter/neutral/pastel colors, or you can go with brighter tones like red, green, blue, yellow. You might also want to think about a theme-- for example, retro, classic, urban, elegant, bright & sunny, or casual and laid back. The most important thing is to choose clothing that matches your family's style and especially for kids, something that they will be comfortable in and happy to wear. Aside from choosing a color palette (and a theme if it suits you), the only "rule" I would suggest is to avoid wearing shirts or jackets with big logos or characters. They can be distracting and take the focus away from your family's beautiful faces.

If your family includes small children, you may want to pack a small backpack with snacks and juice. Children (and adults) are always in a better mood if they have full bellies and are well rested. Feel free to bring along any toys that your child loves and that you don't mind them being photographed with.

A typical session lasts between 1-2 hours at an outdoor location. I will try to make it relaxed and fun, and while some of the portraits will be posed, I also try to capture the natural moments in between. You should feel free to let me know if there are certain poses or groupings of family members that you want included. I'm always willing to incorporate your ideas, so don't be shy if you have any suggestions.

Overcast days are fine, but if it rains, we will either need to move indoors to a location with a lot of natural light, or reschedule the session for a time when it's not raining.

I make it a priority to edit as soon as possible, and schedule your personalized ordering appointment within 2 -3 weeks of your session.
